A multi-joint exercise & eccentric exercise, using bodyweight, unilateral, i.e. not alternating between legs.
Considered a glutes exercise or a quadriceps exercise depending on stance, with the following muscle groups:
- targeted: glutes and quadriceps
- secondary: spinal erectors, hamstrings, and calves
Level: intermediate (more challenging than a squat).
Exercise grading: S.
Not to be confused with single leg lunge.
