Supinated pull-down

A multi-joint exercise & concentric exercise, using a high cable with a supinated grip (lat bar attachment).

Considered a middle-back exercise, with the following muscle groups:

  • targeted: lats and biceps
  • secondary: deltoids (posterior deltoid) and forearms (forearm flexors)

Level: beginner (less challenging than the chin-up).

Exercise grading: B for the lats (shifts some tension to the biceps).

An alternative to the chin-up, with a wider and more progressive difficulty range.

Not to be confused with pronated pull-down.

A.k.a.: supinated cable lat pull-down
